Dear Melican Families -

Thank you to our PTO and caregiver volunteers for their work on the RoadRUNner Ultimate Challenge today. The event was a huge success!

On Wednesday (10/22) and Wednesday (10/29) we are holding our Caregiver Teacher Conferences. You should have received teacher invitations through ParentSquare.

Please reach out with any questions.

Respectfully,

Michelle T. Karb, Principal
Gretchen M. Bean, Assistant Principal

Ski Club Information

Please see the communication that was sent to 7th and 8th grade families earlier today:

Sign-ups for Ski Club will be available on Tuesday morning. Due to limited space, we are only offering sign-ups to 7th & 8th graders.  There will be TWO live links on our MMS website:

1. **MUST be completed FIRST - register/purchase program passes with Wachusett (Melican access code = MEMSC) and
2. to pay the bus fee.

Both of these tasks need to be completed to be considered enrolled in the Ski Club.  We have a limit of 36 students so please sign up early; spaces fill very quickly.

**If your child plans to join the basketball team OR the school musical, please be aware it typically conflicts with our schedule. They will have to choose one of them.

Thank you,

Nicole DeAngelis, Administrative Assistant

Nurses' Corner

Reminder from the Health Office that in November routine health screening for students will begin. Seventh grade students will be screened for hearing/ vision and heights/weight. It is important to mention that these are screenings not diagnostic exams. If you would like your student excluded from these screenings please notify the Health Office prior to November 1, 2025.

All grades are screened for scoliosis. This year there is a new procedure for Scoliosis only.  A Parent Square notice was sent a couple weeks ago with instructions on how to opt in for your child to be screened.   Please fill out the form if you want your child screened. This too should be completed prior to November 1, 2025.

Also as a reminder, students should NOT be bringing over the counter or prescription medications to school with them. This is a safety concern. If your student needs medication while at school, please reach out to the health office and we can work with you to arrange this.

Please call the Health Office if you have any questions or concerns.
