Dear Melican Families -

We hope you enjoy the weekend. It is hard to believe that Quarter 1 ends on Wednesday (November 5). Specialist teachers (art, PE, etc.) will issue grades at the the end of Quarter 2 and Quarter 4 only.

The PTO is having a Fun Night for sixth graders on Friday, November 7, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Please complete this permission slip if your child will be attending.

There is also a Fun Night for eighth graders on November 10, and one for seventh graders on November 14 (see below). We will be sending out permission slips for these events soon.

Thank you to our sixth grade families for supporting the Grade 6 PTO Bake Sale at our Caregiver Teacher Conferences.

Nursing Corner

Hello from the Health Office,

We wanted to make parents and caregivers aware that hearing and vision screenings will take place for the seventh grade students next week. If your child wears glasses or has contacts please ensure they wear them to school. It is important to note this is a screening not a diagnostic exam. If there are concerns the Health Office will contact you.

Heights and weights will be completed for seventh graders the week of Thanksgiving.

If you have questions, concerns or would like to opt out of these screenings please contact kgallagher@nsboro.k12.ma.us. Please reply before 8:00 am on November 3rd.

As a reminder, all grades are screened for scoliosis. Screenings will take place the first week of December. This year, there is a new procedure for Scoliosis only. A Parent Square notice was sent a few weeks ago with instructions on how to opt in for your child to be screened. The deadline to opt in is quickly approaching on November 1, 2024. Please fill out the form if you want your child screened.
