 School Musical Directors make difficult decisions about casting The Little Mermaid. Bruce Williams' last day is December 23 - we wish him a wonderful retirement and are thankful for the 17.5 years he dedicated to Melican.

Dear Melican Families -
Congratulations to students who were cast in The Little Mermaid, as well as those chosen for stage crew. Nearly 90 students will participate in the show, which runs February 27 and 28 at 7:00 at Algonquin. We are proud of the more than 140 students (25% of our student body) who auditioned for the show and/or applied to be part of the stage crew.
Our basketball teams played their first two games of the season this week. The boys' team heads into the break with a 1-1 record, and the girls' team will try for their first win when we return in the New Year.
Our eighth graders visited Algonquin today. From all accounts, the trip was informative and our students represented themselves and their school well.
Please check the lost and found located outside the front entrance of the building.
Next week will be a short week, with an early release on Tuesday, December 23, at 10:45 a.m. We will send another Melican Memo on Friday, January 2.
