Melican Memo | January 30, 2025

Sixth grade scientists extract DNA from strawberries. Thank you Dr. Manning for spending time with our student!Eighth grade students discuss their math thinking with their teacher and with one another. Student artwork is displayed in the hallway.
Thank you to Steven Knight for 16 years of dedication to the students and families of the Melican Middle School.

Dear Melican Families -

It is hard to believe that the last day of January is tomorrow. Let’s see what Punxsutawney Phil sees on Groundhog Day. Will there be six more weeks of winter, or will we have an early spring?

Thank you to our custodial staff for their work in cleaning up the snow that fell early in the week.

Families may have received emails from Jostens about this year’s yearbook, and we want to reassure you that these messages are legitimate. If you haven’t ordered a yearbook yet, we encourage you to do so soon. Yearbooks can be purchased directly through the Jostens email or by using the ordering link on our school website.

Please remind students to bring charged chromebooks to school each day. We are running out of loaners throughout each day, and we want students to be prepared to engage in learning.

Please consider joining the NSboro librarians on February 3 for the NSBoro Reads Community Celebration at Algonquin. Details are below.

Please reach out with any questions.

Respectfully,

Michelle T. Karb, Principal
