Dear Melican Families -
We had another event-filled week as we inch our way toward the end of the school year. Our music department hosted their annual Spring concert series with the Sixth Grade Band and Chorus concert on Tuesday, the Seventh and Eighth Grade Band concert on Wednesday, and the Seventh and Eighth Grade Chorus concert on Thursday. The music was amazing, and we thank our families for supporting Melican music.
We hosted a visiting chef in our cafeteria on Wednesday. A majority of our students ordered the special lunch that day and were excited to meet the chef who was preparing their food.
Lastly, we welcomed our fifth graders from all four elementary schools as they toured the building and met some of our sixth grade tour guides and staff on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
We continue to celebrate our eighth graders as we prepare for our Farewell Dance this evening. Thank you to our PTO and other parent volunteers for their dedication and extremely hard work - it is going to be a wonderful event!

As we are looking at the next 7.5 school days and the coming end of the school year, we ask you and your children to begin to locate their chrome books, chargers and Yondr pouches, as we will be collecting those during the last week of school.
